Hertz Car Rental - Malta Luqa International Airport - MLA - Malta

Last year I left a review for Goldcar at Malta. I don't recall the username but I'm sure it will still be listed.
It took me around 5 months to get a full refund from the broker for goldcars borderline criminal practices.

Suffice to I was apprehensive this time around about renting from Luqa again.
We booked directly with Hertz, no brokers for me ever again!
Read the t's and c's several times and applied for a credit card specifically for the rental.
We also paid £35 for 3rd party insurance to cover any excess. Worthwhile peace of mind in a country where driving standards are 'relaxed'.
Pick up took around 15 minutes with no nasty surprises. The vehicle was in reasonable condition all around.
Full tank on return policy was in place which seems like a godsend these days, but should be the norm.
Trouble free 2 weeks. Slight concern on return. I'd filled it at the petrol station at the airport but the dial wouldn't show full. The attendant couldn't get anymore in without it cutting off, so I filmed the dial whilst at the pump just in case. I explained this when dropping off and showed the receipt to the hertz staff. I assume the dial eventually moved as I haven't been charged on the card this far.

In conclusion a good experience made to feel like an amazing one compared to last year's mayhem.
