Deposit not returned

I rented a car from this company 20 April returned 27
The deposit of €1900has not yet been returned. 14 June despite many attempts to contact by phone always,after a delay,engaged.
Head office in Spain do not seem to be interested.
I have now put this in the hands of the Maltese police

I have contacted the Maltese police and they have spoken to the local operations manager LeeRoy Balzan and I did get an email from him saying he will look into it. This seems to be the stock answer from this company.
How long does it take to look into their computer? I will be contacting the police again tomorrow if this not resolved.

I have had exactly the same experience with Goldcar Malta recently. I hired a car for 1 week in April. They took 1900 Euro deposit immediately and I still have not had this back. It's now over 6 weeks since I returned the car in perfect condition. I was advised by Victoria R to open a formal claim on their website, but the system simply does not work and you are left going round in circles.

My bank are now investigating this on my behalf as I paid the deposit on my credit card.

Do not use Goldcar Malta - you will regret it, I certainly do!

It came back as server not available or words to that effect
So today it is back to the Maltese police

At last after 8 weeks I got my deposit back
Anyone in the same position should remind them that according to the small print in their own contract, the deposit should be returned. "up to 15 days after the vehicle is returned"
i.e. They are in breach of contract, if not returned within 15 days
