POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!
Disappointed!!! EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
To start I'll say, I generally love Avis! I'm a preferred member and I've been renting with them years. I enjoy the wide vehicle selection and the prices are fair. It is usually a good experience.
EXCEPT THIS TIME....
I rented a vehicle over Labor Day weekend. After returning I realized my friends wallet had be left in the car. I immediately contacted Avis with my Rental agreement# as well as the vehicle license plate. I was told it would take up to 48 hours to check the vehicle!
My question is why???
I've been told that because they had 3000 vehicle returned from the weekend (Really 3000?!?) they have to wait until they go to clean the vehicle. This seems ridiculous! Add to that the rep at Lost & Found would not provide her name or a reasonable time frame. It seems that every moment that passes is another chance for someone to find the wallet and for it to disappear!
If the vehicle is known and at the location, why can't a porter be sent to retrieve the wallet immediately? We are talking about someone personal information including credit and debit cards and other sensitive information. You would think this would be a priority and wouldn't take more than a few mins to to get the item and notify the customer.
THE BLATANT MISDIRECTION (3000 VEHICLES :-/) AND GENERAL LACK OF CONCERN FOR A CUSTOMERS PERSONAL INFORMATION CALLS INTO QUESTION AVIS' ETHICS AND MAKES ME QUESTION DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM IN THE FUTURE! I CAUTION ANYONE CONSIDERING THEIR SERVICE!!!!
