The worst experience with car rental and an unhealthy, anger-provoking experience overall. I rented well in advance because the price was good. When I got to thrifty, I discovered I had left my credit card at home and my bank, not being informed that I was out of my home state, denied the debit card I had. I was meeting a friend who put it on her card but we wanted assurance that the price would remain the same and when she left in a week the car would transfer to me as I was staying longer. I got their assurance but decided to call a few days prior to bringing my friend to the airport just in case. I was connected to the Tampa airport office and spoke with someone that said she would leave aperwork in the cash drawer with my name on it so that I could fill it out and they would make the change with little hassle for me. Well, I did just that. A few days later my friend began getting calls asking where the car was. She told them and I called. There was no record of me at all. Getting to the Tampa airport office by phone was impossible and each time I called their "877" number I was met with resistance until I told the whole story that you are probably getting tired of. Then they said they would transfer me to Tampa. Tampa never answered. Six times. I got a voice mail once- no return call. I am disabled and the reason I was in Florida is because my mother is gravely ill. This was not what I needed. I have made complaints. It still isn't resolved! Never again. That old saying, "you get what you pay for" certainly is true.

Thrifty

Tampa airport. Booked a rental with Thrifty 2 months prior to my vacation September 5 2015. When we arrived NO car. Waited for over 4 hours for a car I never received. The front desk first said a 1/2 hour wait. Then another hour, then 45 mins, then maybe another 1 hour and a 1/2. It took me over 2 hrs to find another car. This is really bad business. Wouldn't recommend and will not be doing business with this company ever again.

Car Rental Scam - They have no Integrity

The worse car rental experience yet. I’ve traveled the world and rented a car on other continents and N. America many, many times in my life, but have never experienced such a dirty way to scam people for money the way this company does. I made my reservation through Expedia and paid a car, all state and airport taxes, concession fees, and everything else that I needed to pay. I also declined car collision insurance since my MC covers that when I first booked the car. When I picked it up at Tampa Int airport I agreed only to pay $91.00 for highway toll fees. I declined car collision insurance at the counter again and was under the impression that I'll be only charged tall fees. They made me agree and sign on an electronic pad where you could only see a place to sign, not what you're signing. They printed a receipt that you could not read and two weeks later I'm so bitter that my car rental cost from $340.00CAD, what I paid in full with Expedia, turned into $800.00CAD because they charged me for car collision insurance, concession fees, or everything that I declined on several occasions. When I phoned and complained they agreed to pay me back car collision insurance. I got confirmation number of my inquiry; they also told me to wait 3-5 business days to receive money back on my MC. Seven business days later, no words from them, and no money on my MC. I’m calling my lawyer. Dear Thrifty, you got me once, but will never see me again, never.

Horrible Customer Service

The employees were unfriendly, and the agent was pushy about add ons, even after I declined them. Then they put me in a car that didn't have a full tank of gas, and had not been washed or cleaned. There were crumbs and food wrappers all over the floor, and something sticky on the dash. When I approached the agent about it he treated me like I was majorly inconveniencing him, never apologizing.

Bad experience all around.
