AVOID GREENMOTION AT ALL COST!!
AVOID! AVOID! We rented a car from Greenmotion through Rentalcars.com at Orlando and had a horrible experience. First we had to wait for more than one hour to get our car then the tire had low air pressure so they had pump air in it. That still didn't work because throughout of trip low pressure alarm was on. However the biggest FRAUD that the company is guilty of is Insurance. They have a scam going. They ask you to produce copy of your Auto Insurance (who carries copy of their auto insurance). If you can't then you have to pay exorbitant insurance ($25.99) per day. Booking agreement does not specifically say you have to produce copy of your Insurance, if you want to decline. I called Greenmotion to resolve this issue and they hung up on me twice. I called Rentalcars.com and they said it is in the fine print. They seem to be colluding with Greenmotion. They are both owned by Priceline. So beware of GREENMOTION and also RENTALCARS.com and by association all Priceline Companies.
DON'T RENT HERE
I arrived after midnight and waited for the shuttle. The shuttle driver was very friendly, but failed to mention there were no rental cars!!! After driving 15 min there I got out, stood in line, and was told they had no cars. I had prepaid for my full trip. I was then told they could not give my my money back. I had to go back to the airport where almost all of the rental companies were out of cars. I ended up having to pay $400 for two days from dollar.
Orlando green motionless
We waited 1 1/2 hours in line to get a reserved car that was full of dents- broken taillight and cracked bumper and only had 1/8 gallon of gas. We took our insurance declaration sheet and own sunpass to avoid the unnecessary fees they charge.
Same thing happened to me. After I bought and fully paid online they wanted an additional 500$ on a credit card as a "hold" I offered cash and no way. They wouldnt take my debit card bc according to them they need the pre authorization on a credit card so if the damage is more than 500$ they can charge more. I already had paid $320 online but they claim this was not to them this was to a 3rd party company. So I would hv lost that money. For me to be able to walk out with a car I need it to give them an additional $344 and a $200 hold. They claim this is their own insurance for the car. But I had State Farm insurance which covers a rental and they said thats no good. They said I was a UK customer so I told them I had car insurance there as well and it does transfer. And because I purchased the policy online I did purchase insurance and they said thats no good bc of the $500 credit card "hold" they need it. I asked if they could perhaps reduce that amount a bit since I had already travelled there I am 6 months pregnant and had 3 children to take around in Orlando I simply hadnt added that to my budget. They claimed they gave me a "discount" rate of $244 for me to walk out w a car since it would have had to be $344 on top of the $320 I paid online. And when I asked what type of car I would get they said I would only qualify for the original car which was an economy Hyundai Accent no more than that. They then gave me a car with all sorts of damage it was all wet due to it just being hosed down and had actual paint off with dents all over. To which I complained bc I was actually paying them $40 a day for a car. The actual rental car they gave me had marks all over, sand all over the seats and had a sticker in the windshield but they claim this is ok. I had to give them the money as I couldnt go with my 3 kids anywhere else and I couldnt afford loosing the already paid $300 w another company. Horrid customer service they were all very egotistical and had horrid attitudes. The lady behind the refreshment counter was lovely. She gave my kids chocolate and drinks free of charge. Think she knew they were all horrid.
I have read a few reviews lately and I agree with the negative reviews completely. When you get vehicles with damage and then return it and they claim you did it?! Crazy right? Plus make you take their insurance!!! (I can't tell you how many times I read that!) Then they want you to fix they damage that you clearly did not do. Also walk around inspection notes is different colored ink than your copy!! Customer Service Manager Frank calls and makes promises of how his company wants to treat you like a friend? With friends like that, who needs enemies? I think their side job is selling rotten fruit to travelers getting a shotty car as they land at Orlando Intl!!! Beware, spend the extra money and use Hertz! (At least they stand behind their promises!)
