Had Reservation, but NO Cars Available
I had a reservation with Sixt at TPA on 2-13 and even filled out the pre-registration the day before. Their driver picked me up at the airport and took me back to a TOTALLY EMPTY LOT. They had NO cars, and I was one of about 5 people who were there around the same time. We were all told the same thing. “We don’t honor third-party reservations (Carrentals, Travelocity, etc). They don’t mean anything if they’re not paid for in advance.”
I had 2 options. The 1st was for them to drive me over to a competitor and rent a car at the standard walk-in rate which was 75% higher than the price I had booked at. So 1-1/2 hours later, I took the second option. They put this 66-year-old 98-pound woman in a 15-passenger van to drive 67 miles from TPA to Sarasota. Very unprofessional and poorly run.
