REPAIR SHOPS BEWARE!

REPAIR SHOPS BEWARE OF SIXT CAR RENTAL! They came into Magic Auto and had us do over 32 oil changes over a 2 week course and refuse to pay for them! We have reduced the prices, they lied and tried to say they had a tax exemption license so we can take off taxes, we've had multiple conferences with the district manager Kevin Lambert and the manager Andre and they will not pay there bill! I know they are using multiple other repair shops, but am not aware of the way things are going with the others. DO NOT TRUST THEM!

Don't count on a car

Do not trust they will let you rent a car. Slightest issue and they will refuse your reservation. No manager available for discussion or review of course. I had a reservation made months in advance. When I got there because they could not scan my license they refused but "conveniently" referred my premium reservation to their Fox rental agency right next to them for a downgrade in car for a higher price. Just lovely.

DECEPTIVE UP-CHARGING

I verbally declined all up-charges at the counter. When it came to insurance, I specifically stated I wanted nothing more than what is required by law. Ms. Diaz said insurance to cover the company's potential loss of the vehicle was built into the rental. After several other attempts to up-charge me, she handed me a receipt and said to initial to reflect the coverages we discussed. She added $240 worth of insurance. We were twelve hours into our travels with two children under two. I stood at the counter with a 7-month old strapped to my chest that the two women at the counter just went on and on about. I was too exhausted and distracted (and trusting) to pay attention to detail. I thought it was the coverages required by law. I initialed. Now they won't refund the money and they won't even take my calls. I've been hung up on at least a half a dozen times today. This company does not care about its customers.

Deceptive business practices

Beware of deceptive business practices. I used hotwire to find a rental car for my parents. While picking up the car at the Phoenix Sky harbor airport they told the Sixt employee Miss Seward they wish to decline the insurance as their own car insurance would cover it. They told this employee multiple times they wish to decline insurance. She had them initial and when they received the print out she had fraudulently given them the Sixt insurance! This cost an additional $179. Once my mom realized what had happened she called and spoke to the manager who told her since they had "signed" for it there was nothing they could do. We intend to contact BBB, State Of Arizona Attorney general. I am not sure if this is something they do to elderly customers but I am concerned and plan to follow-up. Very disappointing, buyer beware!

BEWARE

Unfortunately, car damage can happen to even the safest driver. A deer hit the side of the SUV rented from Sixt in Phoenix, AZ during my September 2015 rental, my insurance company covered the ENTIRE repair. Sixt then billed me for an additional $897.00 for lost revenue for 22 days; this is excessive since I am sure the vehicle would not have been in use that entire time. While I completely disagree with this charge it is legal in a court of law. Where things went COMPLETELY off track was an additional charge for $780.00 for diminishing the value of the vehicle … this is totally a bogus charge!!! The vehicle was already completely repaired by my insurance company; when and if this vehicle is sold the value will have been completely depreciated. Prior to an accident where there was CLEARLY NOTHING I could have done to prevent it, I would have rated Sixt rentals very high. This company has an opportunity to turn this issue around by dropping the additional unwarranted charges … to date nothing has been done. If Sixt truly cares about their reputation they would drop these ridiculous and excessive charges.

Stranded!

Premium rental. Car incurred a flat tire. Since I "declined" roadside coverage (no one offered it) I was left to fend for not only myself but the car as well, which had NO spare. Ultimately I had to get myself and the car back to the airport. Uber took care of me and the tow company took care of the car. Was charged for an extra day because the car was late returning. Last rental from Sixt no matter how good the deal sounds! In this world where Customer Service is King, this Frog is in desperate need of a Princess's kiss!
