Piarco budget

Rented a car from budget Piarco in February 2016, car that was given to me was a bit scratched up on the outside but it's expected as it being a rental, vehicle worked very good staff was very friendly and efficient also exchange rate was a bit high so my over all option was very good .

Budget Trinidad Worst Cars

The car given to me had close to 70,000miles. It seemed very old and was tried to be repainted a few times with a very bad paint job. It had scratches all over the place, the rear bumper was out of place, there were plastic panels on the sides of the car that were not even painted. The front train was in very bad condition, the car sometimes would not even turn on because the pole on the battery was loose and the car alignment was definitely off. This is a car that they should not even be renting out.

Budget Piarco Scam Artists

Rented a car from Budget Rentals at Piarco Airport. First car we were given was a pile of junk with ten of thousands of miles on it. It overheated and subsequently shut down in the middle of a busy intersection, putting my family's safety in jeopardy. 2nd car delivered was also a wreck, but the a/c worked and we were ready to get back on our way. Fast fwd to returning the car and I asked why I was charged more than our agreed upon cost of $500.00 USD for the rental. This is when the budget staff informed me that I signed their contract where they use a fictitious fraudulent exchange rate of 7 local dollars to the USD. The real exchanged rate varies daily between 6.4 and 6.5 approx. This budget dealer uses fraudulent business practices to extract additional monies for an already horrifically overpriced rental. I would refuse to use them unless they use the legal exchange rate of the current business day. Please don't fall for their deceitful business practices. I asked the budget girl behind the desk several times to make it right and she only said she can do nothing. I asked for manager or owner and was told they were in Cancun Mexico, ironically at a Busget rental car meeting for dealers. I felt everything I was told was a lie and this is how this location does business by fraud and deceit. Shame on you for using a good name like budget and turning it into a 3rd world rip-off scam. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY AT THIS LOCATION. I had to make an emergency trip to Trinidad to bury my Father and on my return home and check my account realized my card was swiped twice for a rental i payed cash for, after making a complaint when i got back to the US I received an email from the supervisor at Budget Trinidad asking to please respond to my initial complaint saying it was a misunderstanding , after refusing to do that the supervisor Johnathan asked if I can wait until the end of the month for my refund as the agent will take full responsibility. As of now am still waiting on any response from them after several emails attempts on my part. In my opinion, this was not the first time this happened I just caught them in the act. why I say this its because the last time they submitted a third charge was the day I left Trinidad after my Dad's funeral. HOW UNETHICAL, I will never ever use this company again I will have my bank investigate those charges. RENTERS BEWARE OF THE DISHONESTY.

HORRIBLE CAR & ILLEGAL TRANSACTIONS

On the afternoon of Sunday April 21, I rented a car that was mechanically defective. The 1st car they tried to give me had the passenger side interior door handle fall off even before I drove the car. So I asked for a different car. The replacement car was at least 10-years old. The hubcaps were held on with zip ties. the interior smelled funny, the rear side panels were held on with drywall screws. It was obvious that the car had been in numerous wrecks from the horrible way the body was hanging on the car. (I HAVE PICTURES TO PROVE THIS)
At 7:30 AM on Monday April 22, I returned the car, because there were alignment issues. The customer service staff warned me that I may have issues with the return contract. So very soon afterwards I contacted Budget in the US to register my concerns. I was told that they would only charge me for 1-day's rental, and the local . It is now 3-weeks later and the FULL CHARGE is still on my Credit Card, and going into the next billing cycle (so I also have interest charges accruing)
They are also charging an Exchange Rate that is HIGHER than the Trinidad & Tobago Central Bank's approved rate (which I believe is ILLEGAL, so I'm checking with some attorneys).
According to Budget US I was only chafged for 1-day. I had to send a copy of my credit card statement to show that I was being charged the FULL AMOUNT! So even the franchisee in Trinidad is ROBBING Budget US.
