Horrible experience with Europcar PMI

Back from our holiday in Mallorca and received a letter charging £130 for a missing rear tray that was never there. They don't do proper checks before handling the keys and then charge you for something was never your fault. On top of that our rental came as double the price for some sort of insurance that they force you to buy. So please don't let your holiday being ruined by this poor quality company do all the checks yourself before taking the keys.

Europcar - horrible experience

In the last several years Europcar became very unreliable company. On business trip to Frankfurt I booked with them Audi A5, four seats. When three of us came in the airport pick up the car they gave us BMW Z4, two seat convertible. On my question “how can we fit three people in the car? They said: “we can provide you with the class of car you have ordered or “similar”. And guy told me: “if you don’t want BMW Z4 I can cancel your reservation”. They screwed up and didn’t really care about it.

But what made me forget about existence of this company is me vacation trip to Mallorca. Month in advance I booked Mercedes C-class for 10 days. The order went through alright but couple hours later I’ve received letter form them saying that I have to provide second credit card from witch they are going to take another 560 Euro for security. That was strange and I called them and asked why they need to take full amount from two cards. The lady told me that the car is luxury (C-class MB – luxury car! For 56 Euro per day! What a joke) and they need two credit cards. I hang up the phone and sent them second credit card. But when we came to the airport on the 30th of March to pick up the car, I’ve been told that my reservation was canceled three hours ago. On my question: “Why” they said: “We don’t have the type of car you have ordered”. I said: “Ok, give any other 4 seats car” and he offered me Audi A6 (witch is the same class) only for 200 Euro per day. They knew that there is nothing I can find at the airport at 8PM without reservation.

Horrible Company!! Rent Somewhere Else!!!!

Don't rent from the company!!!! Beware, first off all the staff is rude, you wait in line for hours even though you have a reserved reservation pickup time. They try rudely to force you into paying extra for the insurance. I was even told that although my credit card offered rental car protection, they didn't accept that and if I didn't pay for their insurance then they would have to reserve a 2,000 Euro hold on my card!! This company just tries to scam tourists into paying more for their insurance. The car stated no scratches but had a huge noticeable scratch at the back and was dirty inside. Do yourself a favor and read the horrible reviews of this Europcar location and then book with another company!!!!!!!!!
