They Saved The Day!

Well after booking a last minute business trip online to Cape Town I unfortunately made a huge error and booked Port Elizabeth Airport instead of Cape Town. We arrived at the counter after our flight from Johannesburg and rushing to get out of the airport to make our meeting on time we were kindly advised that there was no reservation for us at Cape Town Airport...of course we argued with them and told them we had the reservation details only to realize that we were in fact wrong and had selected the incorrect airport. Feeling very embarrassed and feeling rather silly we thought there was no way we were going to make our meeting on time. The Rental Agent was fantastic and in her stride she still made efforts to calm us down and tell us how these mistakes can happen and in a few minutes she rectified our booking and away we were with our vehicle which we originally booked. We were so thankful as the branch was full of customers! This extra mile of service and going out of their way to help us was most grateful that I even e-mailed one of the Sales Managers to inform them of the superb service of their staff.

Rude/untrustworthy staff, overcharged

Terrible customer service and rude counter staff at the Cape Town airport location. I was given incorrect information from the counter staff and was subsequently over charged for bringing the car back at the agreed upon time, which they are now claiming was ten minutes too late. Staff member also tried to get me to sign off on the vehicle's condition before physically seeing said vehicle, claiming a walk around had already been completed. I refused and did the walk around myself - found numerous large scratches across the whole left side, a rock chip in the window, and a dent. This damage was overlooked and I could have been charged for it unfairly. I do not trust these employees and this company and will never rent from them again. Think twice before choosing First for your car rental needs. They are not worth the trouble.
