Awful experience with Sixt (1st car rental) at JNB airport- avoid
I rented a car for one day. At the hotel while closing the passenger door the glass fell out of the wing mirror and cracked. On returning the car the supervisor “Pamella” assured me that I would not be charged for the breakage as the car was clearly faulty. Now I’m back in the U.K. and yep- I’ve been charged and Sixt/1st car rental will only say that’s their policy and they won’t budge.
I rent a lot of cars and have never had any issues with a big name firm before. I’ll avoid Sixt/1st direct in the future and would advise anyone reading this to do the same.
