Worst Car Rental Experience Ever!!!

I agree with previous reviewer.

1. My car rental has over 73,000 miles on it, made a lot of noise and automatic transmission seemed to not shift correctly.
2. Dirtiest rental I've rented ever in my 40 years of renting cars.
3. Staff was fair, but need to give this a "1" rating becasue: (a) attendant rushed to get over the transaction, talked to fast, and did not explain the security code needed to unlock the car. (b) should have provided better directions to return the car. (c) failed to inform me not follow Car Rental Return signs that will send you to Hertz, and other car rental
4. Lots of dents, and pitted
5. needs a deep cleaning, a lot of stains

AVIS - You guys need to do better, my worst experience ever.

Avis is located near the terminal, but it's almost impossible to find. I spent an hour and a half looping around the airport, almost missed my flight.

Dented and Dirty

The first car they provided had so many scratches and dents that the check out sheet was completely marked up, and it was covered in dirt and bird droppings. The inside seats were stained and windows all filmy as if never cleaned. At 34,000 miles, it was a mess. To top it off, they claimed it had a full tank of gas but it was not full.

My husband went in to change the car and got one still dented and dirty, just bigger dents, but less of them. The seats inside (all of them) were completely soiled, especially the back seats. This car has 74,000 kilometers on it (can you believe they are still renting it out?!). At this point he was so frustrated I looked the other way and we took it out but I feel dirty just sitting in the car. This is a shameful state for such a well known major car rental company. If this was a budget company, okay. But this is unbelievable for an Avis. I am really disappointed.

Avoid Avis

I could say so much including that 1) the Avis staff at Ben Gurion Airport tried to palm me off with the smallest car although I'd paid for medium 2) how dirty the car we got was and how we were lied to about the fuel guage that was only showing 3/4 full because they said it was faulty but of course it wasn't and I was obliged to return it full. My main complaint is they insisted I take out their own insurance cover although I had my own seperate comprehensive worldwide hire car cover. They lied to me that my cover was not valid in Israel. When I got home it was confirmed by the hire car company that my policy was valid anywhere in the world including Israel. I knew this as I'd used it before in Israel with Budget without any problem.I contacted Avis on my return to complain but all they had to say it was a franchise - so I guess their franchisees are allowed to adopt their own rules.

Dishonest, cheets, and lazy, liers.

Vehicle was dirty, was missing a coolant recovery bottle cap, had improperly inflated tires, was dented on every surface, had ever wheel cover damaged. It was so dirty inside it was disgusting, I wiped down the steering wheel and shift knob with a moist towelette it was dark brown when done. The staff are so lazy, and unfriendly, I seriously don't know how they have jobs.
