AVOID AT ALL COSTS
There is too much to say but here are the main points:
-Having booked and paid for a Jeep to be collected at 5:00pm, I had to wait 2 hours before a car was ready.
-I was not given a Jeep at the end but a Mazda. Not much difference between the two according to Thrifty staff!
-The car was filthy inside and out, (I had to have it cleaned the next day as my family refused to get in it).
-I couldn't use the car in Toronto due to snow, (that is why I had ordered a Jeep).
-Upon returning the car, I was charged for an extra day although I picked up at 6:30 pm and returned at 4:50 pm.
-They also sneaked in other charges which were omitted from the agreement I signed when collecting the car.
-They also tried to over charge for the fuel.
-The Rental Agreement was incorrect and had to be changed several times, (they wanted me to sign for a Toyota!!!!).
In conclusion, whatever you do or however many precautions you take, they will get one over you.
It's all about cash with them. Customer service / customer satisfaction / honesty are not words that I would associate with Thrifty Car Rental at Toronto Pearson Airport.
I rented a vehicle for close to two weeks and scheduled another reservation to pick up another car for an additional two weeks and upon returning the first vehicle on the 08/24/2014 I got quite the surprise from the unprofessional staff at the front desk, The staff member that checked in the vehicle chose to charge my credit card for payment without asking me how I would like to pay as I was always asked, I advised him that I only use my credit card for security payments and I did not want my credit card to be charged, He advised me there was nothing he could do and I should go to the desk to see if it could be changed in there, I went in and explained to the front desk staff what had happened and offered to pay from my debit card and the staff out-rightly refused to take the payment from my debit card and chose to tell me all sots of stories why they wont do it. And on top of that the staff member also chose to take a security payment from the same credit card once more for the car I was picking up and his has now ran my account into overdraft!!!. The car I had before also had my GPS holder on the windshield and I went back and told the guy who checked in the car that I had left my GPS holder in the car, only to hear that he had given my GPS holder to one of the drivers who shuttle the vehicles back and forth, I asked him how he could do such a thing knowing that I was still transacting business at the front desk, I told him I would wait for the driver to come back as I was very dependent on the use of my GPS holder for safety reasons while driving, I stood and waited for over half an hour or more and had to leave the location without my GPS holder and also realized taht the staff member had written on my receipt document that I had lost my GPS holder in the car,,, I did not lose my GPS holder, He took it out and gave it to one of his colleagues.. I am left now without the use of my property and is left to pay an overdraft fee due to the incompetence of these staff members.

Worst customer service
I made a reservation over the phone with one of your customer service agents. I requested information on which locations in Toronto accept debit because I didn't have a Visa card. I told the agent various times that I did not have a visa, that I only had a debit visa. He then assured me it was fine. I was going to visit extended family out of the city and made previous arrangements and booked accommodation. The customer service agent told me the Pearson international airport thrifty accepts debit and I don't need a visa. It took me an hour to get there, I talked to the guy at the counter and he denied that it's possible to use my debit and that the person I booked the reservation with was providing me false information. I spent about 20 minutes on the phone with a manager, explaining my situation and they said they would connect with the brand manager. Not only did they not communicate with the branch manager, they said they called the location that I was waiting at. The phone did not ring, which means they did not call to speak to them. Secondly, the manager on the phone gave me attitude in her voice when she told me " could you just like hand the phone to the person at the branch." They did not resolve this issue or offer me some sort of compensation for the time I wasted getting to the airport, talking to the person on the phone and in person. Thanks to the incorrect information provided by your poorly trained staff, I had to cancel my plans to visit my family and wasted my entire night dealing with this. I have never experienced such AWFUL customer service from a company in my entire life. If you or your staff members are in the wrong, you should at least act like you care about your customers and rectify the situation. I am truly amazed by the lack of coordination and unfamiliarity with company policies.
very professional Staff
I have only positive comments for the staff at Toronto Pearson airport. I booked online in June, picked up the car Thursday returned it Saturday. I was served in a timely manner and received the car I ordered. Staff were extremely well mannered. I would certainly book through them again.
