Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!!! Arriving In Toronto from the west coast with the family in tow after a tiring flight just prior to the labour day long weekend, we checked in with the car rental location that we booked on line and were under the impression was right at the airport as we had picked up before. It turned out to be an offsite location, small operation, and small staff contingent. They had no car of the kind we booked, and the one that they attempted to pawn off to us was a significantly inferior vehicle. Furthermore it was not cleaned properly. We cancelled the contract and went back to the airport to see what else we could get from a reputable dealer!! Being a lead up to a long weekend, the last of the summer, we immediately found out that a number of operations were already sold out of the vehicle we needed for the trip with the family. The family were exhausted from the trip, been on a goose chase for a vehicle so we could make our first destination before midnight and were not impressed we were already on the road. When we met Kevin the customer service representative at the counter and explained out plight, he went right into action sourcing a vehicle for our needs. Not only did he find a vehicle he suggested that if we got on line right away and booked, we might be eligible for further discounts. After having attempted that avenue to no avail, with the kids taxed to their limit with the several hour delay to that point dealing with the other rental agency and getting back to the airport, Kevin graciously obtained and facilitated the the best overall deal at the counter!!!! Not only was the deal equitable with the offsite location, but the vehicle was practically brand new and came with all the electronic gps and satellite features to assist and make our trip that much more relaxing and enjoyable!!! Kevin even put the keys aside so no one else at the counter could rent the vehicle while we attempted to extract the online savings. The cars were going fast and there were only two of these vehicles left!!! Kids were happy, wife was pleased, and therefore I was happy!!!! Our trip could begin on a very pleasant note. The car performed great, and was a pleasure to have on our tour!!! In retrospect, we continually commented that we could not imagine the trip with the alternate company!!! Kevin, I could not get through to your manager to express my gratitude for the service that you gave us so hopefully this comment reaches you. Our next trip we look forward to booking with Alamo and perhaps getting an opportunity to see Kevin again :-)

Awesome, Accommodating Guy!!!
Made our trip experience enjoyable because of his ability to fulfill our automobile needs in short order with a great new vehicle with superior features included that facilitated a pleasant trip from the GPS mapping, satellite radio, numerous plug ins throughout the vehicle (happy kids!)

Because of the experience Kevin gave us at the counter, we look to be long time Alamo customers and look forward to providing our recommendations of Alamo to anyone that inquires of our experience or we discuss our trip with!!!

Way to go Kevin!!!! Your friendly accommodating attitude and treating the customer as important will serve you well in your current choice of occupation but will also go a long way in every endeavour that you choose!!! Who knows maybe some day you will be Pres./CEO of Alamo??

Sangeevan at Pearson deserves to be recognized

Initially, I had booked a car at the downtown location on king st. The booking went through despite my pickup time and I did not receive any notification that I would be unable to pick up my car. On the day of pickup, I arrive at the Alamo location only to be met with the attendants leaving. Upon inquiring, I was lied to my face and was told that I was sent an email a couple hours before. (There was no such email). Had to go all the way to the airport for a car that was now 100$ more than my original booking and wasted 4 hours. Upon the conclusion of our vacation, we met Sangeevan who took in our car return, heard our grievances and gave us additional discounts to compensate for our distress.

No clue about customer loyalty!

I have rented at this location 5 times for a rental period each of 30 days since November 2015. While at the beginning I was impressed with the service at this location and choice of vehicles I was absolutely shocked with the way the Airport Manager behaved when I asked him to match a lower rate I received from the competition for my next 30 day rental starting on April 3rd, 2016

I guess being a regular "long term rental" customer has no value at Alamo!

Simply Amazing

Rented a Chevy Suburban - full size SUV - amazing car for a long road trip we took to NYC from Toronto. The staff both inside the rental location and on the lot were simply amazing. There were no hassles with the rental and no hidden charges. I dropped the car off at the end of the trip and the attendant took a look around and gave me my receipt for the exact amount quoted to me upon renting. Will definitely go back to get more rentals from them in the future!

Fast, Efficient, Friendly

I wasn't planning on writing a review for Alamo until I went to Budget at Pearson and had an awful experience. Budget had hidden fee upon hidden fee. A rental there that was supposed to cost $12.50 through Hotwire cost me $175 plus gas! Not to mention it was supposed to be unlimited mileage and I got charge for time and mileage. Such a ripoff!

Anyways, now onto Alamo. I was quoted $28 through Hotwire and that exactly what I paid. I opted to get the insurance as well which was an extra $27 as well. Other than that there was not a single hidden charge. It said it was unlimited mileage and it was. I rented an economy car and they upgraded me to a midsize for no extra charge. The car was very clean and had that new car smell to it. It was very roomy and handled really well. The staff was friendly and efficient and there was no long lineups. I was in and out in about 10 minutes, maybe less. From now on whenever I need a rental car I will definitely be choosing Alamo!

Vehicle Broke Down. Abandoned on Freeway. Stranded on freeway for hours with negligent followup.

We rented a vehicle from Alamo at Pearson International airport. The new 2014 Ford escape we were given broke down just 15 minutes from the airport. We were stranded on the freeway. We phoned Alamos roadside assistant line and were told someone was on their way and asked for our phone numbers. 1 hour after our call, no show no call. 2 hours after our call, no show no call. So we called back the roadside assistance line Alamo uses and were told it would be another 3 hours. My husband was so angry at the abandonment from Alamo we called Alamos phone number at the Airport too and were told there was nothing they could do and to deal with the roadside assistance. No apology given. Stunned we waited as we were approaching hour 3 and finally after 2.5 hours we see a tow truck.

The most disappointing point about the whole experience was the utter lack of follow-up care and concern from any of the parties at the breakdown, our situation, and the prolonged length of time we were stranded for. From where we were stranded on the freeway to Alamos location at the airport was only 15 minutes!!

We called back to Alamo airport endless times after our breakdown to get no answer. They don't answer phone calls when they are busy we were told. So in the end, after returning the car, we were adamant that we did not want to pay for our rental car bill given the prolonged wait(given how close were already to the airport when it broke down), how 2.5 hours to be stranded was unacceptable, and how frustrated we were by the lack of communication by everyone from Roadside to the Airport to help us soon. And for all of that the Manager(Donna) said to my husband she would give us 10% off. End of story. We will never be returning to Alamo. Bottom line: Questionable reliability of cars and when your on your own, be prepared to help yourself. Their followup service is poor if your stranded and for all the suffering you endure, they still expect you to pay full price! It would have been faster for us to walk the freeway back to the airport close enough away than to sit in a broken down vehicle for 3 hours.
